Help me raise money for kids like Benjamin at Primary Children's Hospital
Many of you know that when our youngest son Benjamin was eight months old, he was diagnosed with a rare cancer condition called Langerhans Cell Hisitocytosis (LCH). He had been normally healthy to that point, when one day, we discovered a bump under his eye. Initially we thought of it as a result of an injury from crawling, but as a couple of weeks passed, and it worsened, we decided to see our doctor. We were told that the "bump" was actually a bone lesion, or tumor! A few days later, his diagnosis was confirmed as LCH, a type of cancer! We were scared! The next few weeks we spent at Primary Children's Hospital meeting with various doctors, finding answers about this terrible disease, and enduring painful procedures.
Chemotherapy, along with many ups and downs continued for Benjamin the next two years, and now he is a healthy, active nine-year-old! We feel profound gratitude to our outstanding Oncologist, Dr. Mark Fluchel, and other staff at the top-rated Primary Children's Hospital for providing him the best care in the world!
Meeting many other children and families with difficult healthcare needs has helped us to realize Benjamin's situation was not as bad as it could be! It often seems unfair that children have to suffer with pain and sickness. All kids should be able to run and play at leisure and not have to endure pain and suffering! That is what Primary Children's Hospital does for kids- helps them live happy, healthy lives! It is a very special place- a place of healing and miracles that brings families and children hope! I feel truly thankful for this nationally-ranked children's hospital in our midst!
I hope you will support my fundraising page for Pennies by the Inch because it helps so many of these needy children and their families. This has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. Will you join me in this great cause to help the children? Thank you in advance for your generosity and love for these great kids!
